 Breaking: GP Pool No Longer Requires Reservations, Opening Day Soon Wilson Faucette - Garrett Park Estates, MD - 5.22.2021 - 13:12 Garrett Park Pool Photo: Garrettparkpool.org No More Reservations The Garrett Park Pool sent out an email to subscribers on Friday Afternoon. In their email, they ask to make sure that members have paid their dues. They also give some news that radically changes how the pool will operate this summer. There will no longer be reservations, because they currently have a 75% capacity limit, and the county is set to remove all restrictions in a week or so. They say that that applies to both the family and lap pool. They also say that due to the lifting of capacity restriction, that guests will most likely be allowed. Masking Some of the Garrett Park Pool staff are not fully vaccinated yet, and therefore masks will be required at check-in. However, the pool cites that masks are no longer required outside.  New Speed Indicator on Kensington Parkway in Downtown Wilson Faucette - Kensington, MD - 5.21.2021 - 12:27 New Speed Indicator on Kensington Parkway Photo: Wilson Faucette New Speed Indicator There is a new smart speed sign in the area. This one is on Kensington Parkway in the downtown historic district right by Howard Avenue Park. This speed limit sign is only on one side of the street, on the side with all the shops. It appears that the speed limit is 25 or 30 miles per hour. Unlike other smart speed signs in the area, such as the one on Montrose Road, this sign displays a smiley face when you are not speeding. It tells you to slow down when you are speeding. Make sure not to speed! The Town of Kensington Government, and Montgomery Planning do not appear to have any information on the speed limit sign.  What do you think about the speed limit sign? In the pictures below, you will be able to see different angles of the building from different days. There are portable offices set up. The Woodward building is located on Old Georgetown Road in between Edson Lane and Tuckerman Lane. It was home to Tilden Middle School for many years, after having been Woodward High School. Students who attended GPES attended Woodward for a rather brief period of time.
