 Traffic Alert: Tree Down on Rock Creek Trail near Kensington Parkwood ES Wilson Faucette - Kensington-Parkwood, MD - 7.19.2021 - 11:48 Tree Down on Rock Creek Trail Photo: Wilson Faucette Alert Description:  There are a couple of mid sized trees down on Rock Creek Trail near Everett St, in between Saul Road and Puller Playground(See map below for estimated location).  Location: Rock Creek Trail near Everett St., in between Saul Road and Puller Playground.  Location of Trees Photo: Wilson Faucette Suggestions: We suggest that you try to go around the area of the trees either through the neighborhood of Kensington Parkwood or Beach Drive. You can climb over them, but it is a little difficult, so if you don't have much confidence in your parkour skills, we suggest that you take a detour.  New Speed Indicator on Kensington Parkway in Downtown Wilson Faucette - Kensington, MD - 5.21.2021 - 12:27 New Speed Indicator on Kensington Parkway Photo: Wilson Faucette New Speed Indicator There is a new smart speed sign in the area. This one is on Kensington Parkway in the downtown historic district right by Howard Avenue Park. This speed limit sign is only on one side of the street, on the side with all the shops. It appears that the speed limit is 25 or 30 miles per hour. Unlike other smart speed signs in the area, such as the one on Montrose Road, this sign displays a smiley face when you are not speeding. It tells you to slow down when you are speeding. Make sure not to speed! The Town of Kensington Government, and Montgomery Planning do not appear to have any information on the speed limit sign.  What do you think about the speed limit sign? Photo: Google  My Maps Alert: A down power line has closed the whole trail. Some people have been going through the Fire department caution tape line, and some have gone around. Use caution while driving in the area. Debris includes a piece of metal and shrubbery as of 4:00 PM in the afternoon.
