You Could Be Flying Supersonic With United Soon
United Airlines recently released a statement on their News Hub announcing that they have agreed to purchase 15 Boom Supersonic 'Overture' airliners as soon as they meet United's requirements. United has left the door open to purchase more of these supersonic jets by adding an option to purchase an additional 35 more, which could possibly mean that they could have a fleet of 50 of these new supersonic airliners. This means that you could soon be riding on a plane that cruises at supersonic speeds.

What does this mean for you?
Passengers will be able to fly at twice the speed of today's fastest airliners. Flying at Mach 1.7(Mach 1 is the speed of sound, Mach 2 is twice the speed of sound), the new plane will cut the travel time to hundreds of destinations almost in half. The airline and manufacturer are working together to bring innovative and sustainable technologies into the new plane, which will drastically change the passenger experience. The plane will be all business class according to Boom Supersonic, which will likely surround the plane the same prestigious atmosphere as the Concorde, the first and last supersonic airliner.
United expects to start carrying passengers by 2029.
What do you think about flying supersonic again? Will you want to try this in 2029? Let us know in the comments below.
Sounds kind of scary to me.
