Some house construction projects in the district have wrapped up and gone on sale now. Crosswalks have been installed at the corner of Flanders and Waycross, which totals 3 crosswalks on Flanders. One is at Orleans, one at Waycross, and one at Strathmore. There was already a 4 way stop sign at Flanders & Waycross. It is also a middle and high school bus stop.

District 3:

Trees have been planted at White Flint Park by Empire Landscaping. Montgomery Parks said to one of our reporters that the trees being planted was part of a larger Reforest Montgomery Project to meet planting goals and deadlines.

District 4:

Black Market Bistro has outdoor seating still, which means that you cannot go both ways on the Waverly Ave at Rokeby intersection. The Garrett Park Pool's lap pool has been given a fresh coat, and both have been filled up now. The pool is opening on time on May 28 this year. Check out our online article for more information.

District 5:

Garrett Park Elementary School is back in person. Grades K-2 are back every week, and Grades 3-5 are back every other week. Lots of students chose to stay virtual. MCPS is planning for a regular school year next year, but they will have a centralized virtual academy for those who would like. Strathmore Music Center has a new Patio Stage. Tickets go on sale on May 5. View more information on our online article.

The old Woodward High School Building is demolished now, although a few months behind schedule. Construction should begin soon. The new Pepco trail from Cabin John to South Germantown was given 10 million dollars from the state. The trail will be partially paved and partially natural surface.
