Opening on Time

According to their webpage, the Garrett Park Pool will be opening on time. This comes after local, state, and federal governments have begun to ease COVID-19 restrictions. An on-time opening for Garrett Park Pool is Saturday, May 28, 2021 this year. Last year the pool did not open on time do to the developing pandemic. However they were able to open in June and pool goers had to register for a slot. Registration for this year will open any day according to the page.

Shifts, Registration, and Capacity Limits

According to the same webpage, the pool will still have the shifts that you have to register for. And, although there will still be capacity limits, the pool says that they will have more slots open. That means that more members will be able to attend each session. The webpage says that they will announce exciting news about the lap lanes. Based on the fact that Montgomery County Recreation now allows two people per lane in the indoor pools, it seems likely that 2 people per lane may be the exciting news. However, that is pure speculation.

Dues, Member Agreement, and Swim Team

The page says that dues have not risen. It also says that there is a new member agreement. The member agreement says in essence that all registered members have to pay their dues, whether or not they use the pool. The website also says that the Garrett Park swim team reps are working on planning the swim team. According to MCSL(mcsl.org), "The MCSL Executive Board  is pleased to announce that the Montgomery County DHHS has approved both our  COVID-19 Practice Protocol and our COVID-19 Meet Policy!" Garrett Park will most likely have some sort of competitive season since the swim league got waivers for practices and meets. We will give you updates on the season as they break.
