COVID Cases Are Very Low
Montgomery County, MD's COVID-19 Cases and other indicators are very low, and this comes as Montgomery County recently rescinded all of their COVID guidelines, leaving only recommendations and any state or federal guidelines for MoCo residents to follow. Let's take a look at some of the indicators that Montgomery County uses.
For May 28, the 7 day average of new cases per 100,000 people is around 2. That's compared to around 50 in January. Since March 2020, the number hadn't dipped below 3 until this month. We are at the lowest number now since late March of 2020. This indicator is "Very Low," according to Montgomery County.
Only about 4% of hospital beds are occupied by COVID patients. That's about 1/10 of this percentage in May 2020. All of the other indicators are low or very low.
Vaccines
In Montgomery County, 61.8% of the population has received their first vaccine dose. 51.6% of the population is fully vaccinated.

Reopening
Montgomery County's new guidance, which went into effect on Friday at 6:00 AM, "Eliminates all County COVID-19-related capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements for indoor and outdoor activities and businesses and requires county businesses and residents to follow any orders or directives from the State of Maryland," according to the County Press Release. This comes just in time for memorial day weekend, which has so far been rainy and cool.
