The Story Walk is back in Downtown Kensington

After spending a few weeks at Capital View - Homewood Park in Capital View, the Story Walk is back at Clum-Kennedy Park, just next to downtown Kensington. The 5th Story Walk has been up since Saturday, May 15. It will remain at Clum-Kennedy until June 6. As the Library Foundation says, "StoryWalk® is an innovative way for children and families to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time."

What is the Story Walk?

The Noyes Children's Library Story Walk is an activity that you can do at a park. It stays at one park for a few weeks. The Story Walk consists of each separate page of a picture book being displayed on a sign along a path. Readers start at the beginning and walk along the path that the Story Walk is on. They read the signs with the pages as they walk. 

Cicadas Are Here, That's What This Book Is About

You have probably noticed that there are a lot of Cicadas now. That is because the 17 year cicadas, the Brood X Cicadas, are out now. Noyes Library's Story Walk reflects this current event.

They had an in-person ceremony at Walter Johnson High School's Stadium, streamed on the regular Montgomery County Local TV Channels and online. They also put together a virtual graduation commencement video which can be viewed on youtube .  According to the Montgomery County Public Schools Graduation Schedule , the speaker at the graduation today was social studies teacher Mr. Delello.  The Walter Johnson Principal posted images and videos from the graduation on the @WJPrincipal Twitter account . In the pictures below, you will be able to see different angles of the building from different days. There are portable offices set up.
